Wipe

M360 Provides ADISA certified data erasure for Android and iOS devices. This option is available while the device is connected to M360, and has the M360 mobile app installed on it. Generally, this process is as simple as pressing the “Erase Data” button.

WARNING: All data will be wiped from the device once this process is initiated, no chance for recovery is available for lost data.

There are a few things you should make sure before wiping a device, to ensure it goes smoothly. Erasure is not available for devices which do not match the following:

  • Must have no FRP Lock
  • Must have at least 20% battery charge
  • Must be connected to the M360 computer app, with the M360 mobile app installed

For certain Android devices which do not allow app installation via USB, additional steps may need to be taken. The M360 Wipe app is a tool uploaded to these devices, but may fail due to security features blocking it. This commonly happens on Xiaomi and similar devices. In this case, the following steps are to be taken:

  • When notified of the failure, choose the manual option for installing the Wipe app
  • An APK will be uploaded to the Downloads folder of the device
  • Navigate to the Downloads folder, and follow on screen instructions to install the app
  • Run the Wipe process from the M360 computer app again

Note: Most Samsung devices can be Wiped even without USB-Debugging enabled. Make sure in your settings you have “Samsung Debugging-Free Connection” turned on, and connect such a device. A Wipe application will be uploaded, and although slower it will perform complete Data Erasure on the device.
